If you live in Newton County, IN and you're getting calls from 'Brian' asking for your information, don't buy it.  You're advised to hang up on 'Brian" and notify authorities.

The Newton County Sheriff's Department has received complaints from people saying someone named 'Brian' is calling asking for your personal information.  This Brian guy allegedly claims he's from the sheriff department and the call appears to identify with the legitimate posted sheriff's department number.  But local officials say law enforcement does not solicit anyone in this way.  Police say 'don't fall for the scam, and hang up on such callers.
