School districts sharing American Rescue Plan money

Several area school districts will be receiving millions of dollars in COVID-19 relief payments. It was announced schools and government agencies will be getting a share of COVID relief monies. It’s part of the American Rescue Package, announced last week by the Biden administration.

The federal money will give schools flexible options to spend over the next three years. At least 20 percent must be used to address learning loss, but the money can also be used to address many other issues and costs.

State schools received a total of $7 billion in coronavirus relief money.
