Insurance adjusters will be evaluating damage done to a grade school in the Prairie Central School District. The junior-high building at Forrest was peeled off Sunday when high winds hit the community. Superintendent Brian Quam reported the majority of damage was limited to the school gymnasium. The west side of the gym had the roof removed. Water damage was also reported in the gym.
Students are not expected back from the Christmas break until January 5.
In Ford County -- a business lost part of its roof. No injury was reported. There were reports of three funnel clouds in northern Iroquois County, from near St Anne over to Martinton and Clifton.
Officials in Macon County are waiting for confirmation about a tornado in Long Creek. Cleanup is also underway in Tazewell County where damage was reported to State Route 9 in rural Pekin. Several homes were reported damaged near Macon and Piatt County.
The NWS reported tornado warnings in Benton, Jasper and Newton Counties in Indiana.
