Separate Iroquois County crashes leave two men dead

                             Chebanse mishap victim dies; Gilman man killed Wednesday morning

A 47-year-old Gilman motorist was killed Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash. Gary Schroeder was pronounced dead at the scene in Douglas Township. His car hit a bridge abutment, according to Iroquois County Coroner Bill Cheatum.

Cheatum said the accident happended about 8 am. The victim was southbound on 850 E Road when he lost control then hit the bridge at 1670 N in rural Gilman.

Sheriff's Police investigated. An autopsy was scheduled.

Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner reported the 18-year-old man severely injured in a Route 45 crash near Chebanse Road Tuesday has died. Ross Bissaillon ( Biss-sale-on) of Bourbonnais died early Wednesday at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee. He suffered injuries in a head-on collision near Iroquois County Road 3300 N at 2:30 pm Tuesday.

State Police reported Bissaillon was northbound in the southbound lane of Route 45 passing other vehicles when ran head-on into a southbound pickup truck driven by Hugo Perez of Gilman.

Police reported Bassaillon was ticketed for improper passing while Perez was charged with driving without a license.
