September 3 marks start of petition filing for March 2020 election

Political hopefuls should note the first day for candidates of established political parties to begin circulating their nominating petitions for the March 17, 2020 primary election is Tuesday, September 3. Necessary paperwork must be filed in the respective county clerk’s office between Monday, November 25, and 5 p.m. Monday, December 2.

In Iroquois County, offices to be nominated in the primary election are those of the circuit clerk, coroner and state’s attorney. Nominations are also up for 10 county board members, including two from District I, three from District II, two from District III and three from District IV. All of Iroquois County’s 37 precinct committeemen will also be elected.
