Shake Out Drill welcomes your participation

The 2013 GREAT CENTRAL U.S. SHAKE OUT is Thursday, October 17th at 10:17 am.

Iroquois County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is teaming with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and the Central U.S. Earthquake Consortium in welcoming your and your organization to practice earthquake safety.

Iroquois County EMA welcomes your participation and feedback. After the brief 1-minute drill, we invite you to share your experiences and tell us what you learned. Mail, email, or telephone us and tell us how your group/organization participated and what you may have learned.

In total more than 17 million people worldwide will practice earthquake safety. Hopefully, even more will see and learn what to do should a real earthquake ever affect the local area. Learn more at www.shakeout.com/centralus/login

DROP, COVER, and HOLD ON is what we want you to do during the :60 second drill at 10:17 am.

94.1 WGFA Radio is a proud sponsor of the GREAT CENTRAL U.S. SHAKE OUT. If your organization wishes, tune in a few minutes before the 10:17 am drill and WGFA will guide your participation by airing a :60 PSA (Public Service Announcement), encouraging participants to "DROP, COVER, and HOLD ON."

Schools, businesses, government offices, hospitals, nursing homes, and citizens at home are encouraged to practice the drill and then discuss your experiences.

The Iroquois County EMA/ESDA office, as always, welcomes your feedback and questions. Visit our website: www.iqesda.com
