Sheriff Doran concerned about increase in traffic crashes

Ford County Sheriff Mark Doran is warning motorists that his deputies will be on the lookout for speed violators and distracted drivers. The sheriff says area roadways have become dangerous and he's very concerned about the number of fatal crashes in and around the Ford County area so far this year. Sheriff Doran wants drivers to protect themselves, their families and others by slowing down and avoid distracted driving.

Ford County deputies will be spending more time on traffic enforcement, targeting excessive speed and distracted drivers. The sheriff said it's not intended to be a money-making venture but instead a life-saving effort to keep people's eyes on the road and slow them down.
