Sheriff's Police respond to bomb threat in Gilman

A reported bomb threat at a Gilman business is under investigation.  Iroquois County Sheriff's Police answered a dispatch to the Dollar General store along Route 24 at 2:40 pm Wednesday.  Deputies evacuated the premises as a precaution.  The University of Illinois Bomb Squad and an explosives detection K-9 searched the building and parking lot.  Police reported locating a suspicious item inside the store, but it was determined not to be a threat.  The store was cleared and allowed to re-open around 7 pm.  The Iroquois County Sheriff's Department continues the investigation.
