15-year-old Maurice M. Wilson of Kankakee was the victim of a downtown shooting early Saturday. The boy was shot and killed in the 100-block of W. Court Street. A city police news release stated officers responded to shots fired just after midnight.

Police reported the boy died after arriving at Ascension St. Mary Hospital. Several witnesses have been interviewed by detectives. Detectives are attempting to locate additional witnesses to the shooting. Anyone with surveillance video is urged to contact police at 815-933-0426.
