A family escaped injury when shots were fired near a business in Pembroke Township. Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police are investigating the Wednesday night incident. Police reports showed a man took his kids out for a treat at a CITGO Service Station when shots were fired. Their vehicle was hit by gunfire while the man drove to a safe area. Another vehicle, the apparent targeted-vehicle, was also hit by bullets. That driver was not hurt. And the store was also hit, a window was shot out. No one was injured.
