A juvenile was in custody after shots were fired in Rantoul over the weekend. Rantoul Police responded to shots fired Saturday afternoon in the 700-block of Willow Pond Road. Witnesses provided investigators with information that led to a vehicle being stopped in connection with the incident. A 16-year-old Inside the car was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm and defacing identification marks on the firearm.
Meantime -- in Hoopeston Police stopped a vehicle in the 1000-block of W. Penn Street. A search of the vehicle led to the arrest of the driver, 46-year-old Marci Howey of Indianapolis. She was jailed in Vermilion County for possession of METH, possessionof drug paraphernalia, unlawful use of a weapon, defacing a firearm. She was also charged with driving while suspended and no insurance.
