ShowBus involved in accident, 2 passengers injured

A distracted 16-year-old driver in Iroquois County faces a charge of Improper Lane Usage following a traffic accident that involved a ShowBus, carrying eight passengers.

Illinois State Police reported two of the eight passengers on the 15-passenger bus were treated for minor injuries at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka. All three drivers were also taken to IMH with minor injuries.

The accident happened just before 3:30 Thursday afternoon on Illinois Route 1 at County Road 1200 N.

Police reported the un-identified 16-year-old was northbound when the car crossed the center line and hit the ShowBus. The 16-year-old driver then lost control and hit a third vehicle, a pickup truck driven by an Indiana man.

Milford Fire and Ambulance responded to the call.
