The East Central Illinois Community Action Agency begins accepting appointments Monday, October 3rd, for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Eligible households can apply by calling the offices in Gilman, Paxton, or Danville.
Households with children under the age of six, and those whose energy source has been disconnected are eligible to apply for assistance. LIHEAP is a state and federally funded energy assistance program that helps low-income families.
The agency will continue to accept applications from households with senior citizens and those who have a documented disability.
Vermilion County residents may apply for LIHEAP assistance by scheduling an appointment at the East Central Illinois Community Action Agency at 56 North Vermilion Street in Danville. Call (217) 554-9110...In Ford County call (217) 379-2071....and in Iroquois County call (815) 265-4685.
