The NWS has snow returning to central-Illinois today and tonight. The experts are calling for two to four inches of accumulation before it tapers off late tonight.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory ...effective from noon until midnight tonight.

In addition to the new snowfall, the forecast calls for brutal cold coming behind it. The arctic cold could very well play into work and school schedules next week. The temperatures are expected to plunge to around 14 below zero Monday night following a New Year’s Day high of 1 above zero. Tuesday’s high is only expected to be around 7 again....with lows Tuesday night down to zero. The bitterly cold weather is expected to continue throughout next week.
