A major winter storm could potentially affect Illinois this week. The system is expected to move into Illinois Monday night and most likely will affect a majority of the state. Snowfall totals vary, but some forecasts call for several inches from north of Metro East to north central Illinois. A blast of cold air is expected to move into the state next week.
