Manteno Police issued a warning this week after reports of a junior-high student being approached by a stranger. Police have received no further reports, but did issue a county-wide alert.

It was Monday night when an eighth-grade girl in Manteno was approached by an unidentified man.
The girl described a red- or orange-colored four-door car. It may have had out-of-state plates. The car drove off, after the girl declined a ride.
