St. Anne schools seek to form 1 district

St. Anne is served by two separate school districts for about 500 students. If all goes as planned, the two districts could become one district by July 1, 2024.

Consolidation measures are underway to form a single district. Voters will be askled to approve a referendum question on the March 19 (2024) ballot.  St. Anne is now represented by the Consolidated Community School District 256 and St. Anne Community High School District 302. The two districts respectively represent St. Anne Grade School and St. Anne Community High School.

Superintendent Charles Stegall serves both school boards. A public hearing on the proposed consolidation was held last week by the Regional Office of Education for Kankakee and Iroquois counties.
