The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 21 - Ashkum
A winter storm warning has been issued in the counties of Kankakee, Iroquois, and Ford. This warning became effective today, January 26, (Sunday) at 3:17 p.m.
An additional one to two inches of snow is expected to fall with winds increasing to 25 – 30 MPH, gusting up to 50 MPH. Conditions are expected to rapidly deteriorate beginning at approximately 6:00 p.m., with blizzard-like conditions possible as a result of blowing snow. All motorists are being urged to remain at home. Illinois State Police District 21 – Ashkum is strongly advising against non-essential travel.
This winter storm warning is set to expire at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27.
