State Representative Tom Bennett remained hospitalized Friday in Bloomington following a Thursday night traffic accident in McLean County.
Details about the accident have been un-available. Sheriff’s Police did respond to an emergency call about 9 pm along U.S. Route 24 at 2600 N and 3360 E. Reports indicated it was a one-vehicle accident between Colfax and Weston.
An Illinois House spokesman said Bennett was returning home to Gibson City from Pontiac when the accident happened.
Littlefield said he believed Bennett was traveling alone, but he did not know the circumstances of the accident.
Bennett suffered multiple broken ribs. He was being treated at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Since 2015, Bennett has represented 106th House District since 2015. The district includes Iroquois, Ford, and Livingston counties and parts of Vermilion and Woodford counties.
