Damage assessments are being put together in Kankakee following a morning fire today (Wed) at a storage facility. Kankakee Fire answered the call to 1350 N. Dearborn Avenue around 5:30 am. Fire Chief Bryan LaRoche said the cause may have something to do with human activity in one of 42 storage units at the site. A 25' by 100' building was pretty much ruined, according to LaRoche. The fire destroyed most of the individual units. County crews were called to assist. An investigation was underway.
