— Strong storms in Illiana ahead of a cold front and could bring damaging winds and hail this afternoon.
A first round of the storm moved across central-Illinois just before 9 a.m., turning the sky black. According to the National Weather Service, the storm could bring penny-sized hail and winds around 40-50 mph.
This afternoon weather activity could create storms and bring damaging winds in excess of 60 mph winds and large hail — quarter-size or greater.
Tonight’s low is expected to be 55 degrees. Friday is forecast to be sunny and 76 degrees.
