Students learn of career opportunities in "Tour of Industries"

Vermilion County high school students can carve their futures with real-world opportunities when they visit industries to learn about manufacturing jobs. The 2025 Tour of Industries today (Wednesday 11/5 and Thursday 11/6) is designed to showcase local career pathways and help students connect what they’re learning in school. The Danville area is considered ripe with opportunity.

Organized by Vermilion County Workforce Education Initiative (VCWE) thru Vermilion Advantage, the Tour of Industries gives students an inside look at local employers and industries, highlighting the variety of career options available in manufacturing, healthcare, and entrepreneurship.  Discussions and demonstrations are part of the tour.

“The Tour of Industries is one of the most impactful ways we can connect our students to future career opportunities,” said Jodie Ingram. “It helps them see that great careers exist right here at home, and it opens their eyes to the many directions their education can take them.”

The event is part of Vermilion Advantage’s broader Workforce Education Program, building connections between local schools and employers to help students explore careers, develop professional skills, and prepare for the future workforce.
