Sugar Creek Opera presents ‘Cold Sassy Tree”

The 11th Annual Sugar Creek Opera Festival this weekend finds professional artists presenting "Cold Sassy Tree" at the Central High School Auditorium in Clifton.

Saturday's performance is at 7:30 pm. Dr. Phil Hayes explains the opera is performed for the first time in English, rather than a foreign language with sir-titles..........

Two of the stars are Kyle Albertson and Daniel Shirley, who visited with WGFA's Don Elliott (Friday), telling radio listeners how the story is told through the eyes of Rucker Latimore's grandson .........

Related events include the Bus Tour of Iroquois County Historic Churches starting at 9:30 this (Sat) morning (bus leaving from 4th & Cherry in Watseka).

There's also Wine Tasting at the Inside Out Store in Gilman from 4-6 pm.

Sunday at 3 pm is American Tapestry: Scenes from the Opera at the Central High School Auditorium.
