The NWS reports strong thunderstorms will make Monday morning a bit trying. Early morning storms could redevelop again during the late afternoon. The temp is likely to reach 88 with a heat index near 98.

There is a moderate risk for severe thunderstorms late Monday afternoon through the evening hours. The NWS says there's a potential for damaging winds, isolated tornadoes and a lower threat of large hail.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected in central-Illinois the rest of the morning. At times, heavy rainfall may redevelop. Things will quiet down before the chance of storms re-developing later in the day.
