Tate & Lyle is investing more than $90 million into two Lafayette, Indiana facilities.
Vice President of Community and Government Relations Chris Olsen said "The two plants in Lafayette represent more production capacity than we have in any one location any place in the world." The production capacity at the two Lafayette Tate & Lyle facilities is about to grow after Tuesday's announcement.
Olsen said there are two primary reasons for the investment.
"It will help grow our production capabilities," Olsen said. "But there will also be a substantial investment in pollution control equipment, which should help improve our environmental footprint."
A tax abatement approval opened the doors for the expansion.
The projects are expected to take about three years to complete and will add 10 new jobs.
