Tax refund checks from the state of Illinois could be a little more than a month away for those who file tax returns electronically. The Illinois Department of Revenue said beginning today (Monday), the same day the Internal Revenue Service begins accepting federal tax information, the state will be accepting filings. If done electronically, IDOR says state refunds could be directly deposited into taxpayers' bank accounts within four weeks.
