Tele-Health Service in Illinois freed of red tape

Illinoisans will be able to have more medical services handled by telemedicine services. Governor Pritzker made the announcement last Thursday. The executive order means medical professionals will be able to diagnose maladies via the phone that previously wouldn't have been allowed because of state regulations.

Jordan Powell, president of the Illinois Primary Healthcare Association, says this change will go a long way in the fight to keep residents in their homes and out of hospitals.

The measures are part of the state’s efforts to keep Illinoisans in their homes to slow the spread of COVID-19.
