Ten-million dollar bond for gunman

In Kankakee County Court… bond was set at $10-million for 31-year-old Fyance Dawson of Kankakee. Police say he’s the gunman who shot a mother and her two children. The three victims were getting out of their vehicle Monday night in the 200-block of W. Chestnut Street. They are expected to be OK.

Dawson and 26-year-old Talisha Wade of Bourbonnais face charges, including aggravated battery with a firearm. Court records revealed Dawson served prison time for a 2011 case in which he was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm. He was also arrested twice in 2020 for felony burglary.

Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe had some sharp criticism for the Illinois Prison Review Board, questioning why the Board and the Department of Corrections, was allowing this man was on the street ?
Dawson was chased down by police after the shooting Monday. Wade was the driver of the car.

Rowe said the shooting was connected to the house party shooting early Saturday on N. Evergreen Avenue where five people were shot.
