Texas man arrested in Watseka for Traveling to Meet a Minor

An 18-year-old Dallas, Texas man was jailed in Watseka after he allegedly traveled to meet up with a juvenile for sex.  Jackson Hernandez-Guevara was taken into custody after he jumped from a motel window in an attempt to flee from police.  Iroquois County Sheriff's Police arrested Hernandez-Guevara for Criminal Sexual Abuse and Traveling to Meet a Minor.

It was Thanksgiving morning (November 28) when the suspect was arrested at Watseka's Super 8 Motel.  The sheriff's office investigated the night before when a 9-1-1 call from a female alerted authorities of her juvenile daughter missing.  A neighbor reported having seen the girl getting into a vehicle with possible Texas license plates. A vehicle matching the description was located by police in the motel parking lot.  As deputies attempted to make contact with the person inside the motel, a subject identified as Hernandez-Guevara jumped from a 2nd-floor window in an attempt to flee. He was quickly taken into custody.

Both the suspect and the missing juvenile were evaluated by medical personnel.  Hernandez-Guevara was jailed awaiting a court appearance.
