The Middle East featured in KCC Conference

The public is invited to a free presentation on the roots of constitutionalism in the Middle East, to be held Wednesday, March 26 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the Kankakee Community College Workforce Development Center Conference Hall, Room D140.

The event, "Before the Arab Spring: Constitutional Reform in the Middle East," will feature Alexander Barna, outreach coordinator for the University of Chicago Center for Middle Eastern Studies.

"In this presentation, we will look at the history of modern political reform in the Middle East, and in particular attempts at constitutional reform, and try to situate them in a larger context in which the Arab Spring is not a new phenomenon but rather the latest phase in a larger story of political transformation that spans several generations."
