Three dead, more than a dozen hospitalized after multi-car crash on 1-65 in Boone County, IN

A Michigan man is jailed in Boone County (IN) facing reckless homicide charges after a crash that killed three injured more than a dozen people Sunday on I-65.  Matthew Small of Grandville, MI was operating a semi that plowed into eight vehicle s slowed in backed-up traffic near Zionsville.  Small faces felony counts of Reckless Homicide. 

Emergency crews responded just ater 11 am.  Traffic on the interstate was blocked until about 4:30 pm.  

Two adults and a one-year-old child died in the crash.  All three victims were pinned in a vehicle.  Indiana State Police found eight vehicles and one semi-tractor trailer involved in the pile-up. 

The victims who died were identified as 21-year-old Mariah Tomey, 19-year-old Kaylee Kirk and 1-year-old Hadley Tomey --- all from Lebanon.
