Watseka High School's 4th annual "Throwback" Boys basketball game will be Saturday vs St. Anne.
This year’s event will be a 70’s Night theme at the Warrior boys’ basketball game on Saturday, January 11th at Watseka High School. The Warriors will host the St. Anne Cardinals with the JV game tipping off at 6 pm. All former coaches, managers, players, and cheerleaders from the Watseka Warriors or St. Anne Cardinals from 1970-1979 are invited to attend and sign-up when arriving at the gym. All those who sign in will be introduced at halftime of the varsity game.
Both teams will be wearing their throwback jerseys from the 1970’s. Fans are also encouraged to also dress in 1970’s attire. A prize will be given to the fans with the best 70’s attire.
The event will also pay tribute to the new member of the NBA Hall of Fame, Jack Sikma. Sikma graduated from St. Anne High School after leading his team to 4th place in the 1973 IHSA State Tournament. Sikma then starred at Illinois Wesleyan University, leading to his NBA career with the Seattle Supersonics and Milwaukee Bucks.
