The March 10 tornado in Kankakee County still calls for volunteer help. There’s been several people, church groups, school students, local government programs and more --- all doing their part in Aroma Park and over in Lake Township, IN where Lake Village was hard-hit. Volunteers are still offering their time to helping people clear debris and rebuild.
Another clean-up --- calls for volunteers to help in rural Iroquois County --- at the Langham Creek Farm in rural Clifton. The homestead of Beverly Peters took a tornado hit December 28th, an EF-0 twister confirmed by the NWS, lifted a garage roof and raised the home’s ceiling. A lot of household items were scattered about over about 50 acres at or near 3102 N and 1600 E Roads at the Clifton farm.
Beverly had to re-locate while repairs to the structures were completed. Now –her family, friends and others are rallying (Saturday from 10 am – 12 Noon) to clean-up debris and get Beverly’s home situated again.
The family is asking for some community support Saturday to walk the approx. 50-acre site and pickup household items. FFA members, Farm Bureau friends, anyone else with some extra time are invited to help. The Langham Creek Farm is east of Route 45 and north of Clifton Road. Refreshments will be available. Plenty of love, support and smiles --- would sure be appreciated.
Beverly Peters and family say Thank You … in advance.
