A family of four lost everything (last Wednesday) in a house fire at 502 E. Main Street in Ashkum. Two adults and 2 children barely had time to exit the house when the fire broke out about 5 am, according to Ashkum Chief Jeff Glenn. The State Fire Marshal’s Office ruled the cause undetermined. The family lost everything, including a dog.
Chief Glenn reported the fire started in the walls then spread to the ceiling. Chebanse Township, Danforth and Riverside Ambulance assisted at the scene for 3.5 hours.
