‘Total loss’ in Sheldon house fire >

An early-morning fire in Sheldon today (Wednesday) destroyed a huge structure. Firemen were called at 12:43 am to 7th and Concord where first-responders found flames shooting from the roof and the front of the house. No injury was reported.

Firefighters were on the scene until 5:15 this morning. Then, a rekindle had firemen back at the scene.

The same structure burned some 25 years ago. Since then, the structure was renovated several times. The house towers high into the air. No one had been living at the residence, according to fire officials.

Sheldon fire was assisted by Concord, Donovan, Woodland and Kentland, Indiana.

The State Fire Marshall is investigating.
