Mark your calendars for July 16, 2016.....the date for the sixth annual Tractors for A Cure (TFAC) Fundraiser. The event will be held at a new venue in downtown Peotone, Illinois (on 2nd St between Crawford and Main Streets) with the assistance of the Village of Peotone in an effort to revitalize the use of downtown for festival events and recapture the rural heritage of the area.
The event will begin at 11 am and end at approximately 11 pm.
Dean Bettenhausen, founder of Tractors for A Cure knows all too well how “Every family has someone who has been affected with some form of cancer” as in his case, his daughter Annie was affected. Best news yet......she is now 11 years clean this September. He further says, “We need to help out the American Cancer Society (ACS) as well as other cancer organizations with their fundraising for cancer research.
In 2011, Dean Bettenhausen and his team of volunteers sponsored the first inaugural Tractors for a Cure fundraiser on his farm in rural Beecher, Illinois to support The American Cancer Society. Since 2011 through last year’s event, Tractors for a Cure has raised over $184,000 for the American Cancer Society. TFAC has pledged to continue their efforts as long as possible to assist with their fundraising efforts to benefit cancer organizations in their fundraising efforts.
The first 35 registered tractors will receive a gift bag of goodies. Tractor Parade participants can drive or ride a tractor by itself or have a tractor pulling a wagon/barge. There is no prize this year for the best decorated barge/wagon.
