A Thursday morning crash on Route 115 in Ford County seriously injured three local residents.  Illinois State Police investigated at 1200 N Road at 7:45 am.  One of the drivers, according to police, was operating a hand-held communication device and failed to stop at a stop sign.  Charges are pending.

ISP reported 65-year-old Stephen Bloomstrand of Loda was northbound on Route 115 driving a Volvo.  35-year-old Juanita Kesterson of Melvin was eastbound on 1200 N approaching the Route 115 intersection.  She failed to stop and hit the Volvo driven by Bloom strand.  Both units left the roadway and overturned.  Both drivers and 36-year-old Joey Loveless of Melvin ( a passenger in Kesterson's vehicle) all suffered life-threatening injuries.
