Health officials in Ford and Iroquois Counties are cutting back on testing for Tuberculosis due to a national shortage of a product used to conduct the tests.
The Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department said even though the shortage of Tubersol is considered temporary, the group will, for now, only test those who are considered a priority. That includes people who are in contact with someone who has Tuberculosis, have a weak immune system or are showing Tuberculosis symptoms.
Meanwhile, the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District said it's not affected by the Tubersol shortage.
