Watseka Police teamed up with Iroquois County Sheriff's Police,KAMEG and Aroma Park Polcie in a traffic and tavern compliance check Friday. Police concentrated their efforts on traffic violations and a focus on high-crime areas to better provide safety for local citizens. Two arrests were made. Several warnings were handed out during 25 traffic stops.
27-year-old Jonathon Starr of Watseka was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and cannabis. He was also charged with driving an uninsured vehicle. 22-year-old Cody Hartlep of Watseka was cited for driving while revoked and obstructing a police officer.
The law enforcement effort included drug sniffing dogs from KAMEG and Aroma Park Police.
