Two dead in Ford County crash

                     State police correct victim's name

A three-vehicle accident near Melvin Tuesday afternoon took the life of two people.

Illinois State Police updated a new release that now identifies a second victim as 51-year-old Debra Lowe of Fort Wayne, Indiana. (An earlier report identified her as Debra Moody).

77-year-old Jack D. Moody of Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Illinois 54 near 1000E Road. Debra L. Lowe was airlifted from the scene, but pronounced dead at a Champaign hospital.
State Police say Moody was driving a pickup on Illinois 54 at 4:46 pm. Moody's vehicle crossed over the center line into the path of semi truck and continued on into the lane of another pickup driven by Ms. Lowe. The Moody and Lowe pickups collided head-on. The un-identified driver of the semi was not injured.

The investigation into the accident is still continuing.
