Two-year prison term for ex-Cissna Park official

In Iroquois Circuit Court (Monday 12/2), Judge James Kinzer handed a former Cissna Park bookkeeper a two-year prison term.

Rhonda Sue Siebert pleaded to a Class 3 felony charge of theft. She was ordered to report to the county jail January 23rd for transport to the Department of Corrections.

Siebert was also the former collector of the village. She was accused of stealing between $100,000 and $500,000 over a six-year period. The investigation, according to prosecutors, revealed the money was stolen by using a village credit card, checks, and cash.

Siebert had been village clerk since January 1993 and bookkeeper/collector for at least 15 years. Siebert was fired as collector/bookkeeper by the village board in September 2012. She then resigned as village clerk.
