Ten projects in Kankakee will benefit from a federal grant. Kankakee’s Economic and Community Development Agency will share in a block grant from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. The $1.5 million grant will go toward the projects that may include clearance and demolition to rehabilitation and/or relocation.The local agency’s mission is to improve the lives of citizens in Kankakee.
