The Vermilion County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim found Thursday in a residence where fire broke out earlier that day. 75-yerar-old David Singleton was identified. He lived at the residence at 300 Park Street in Danville.
Coroner Jane McFadden said today (Thursday) Singleton’s family has been notified. An autopsy will be performed today.
The Danville Fire and Police Departments, the Coroner’s Office and the Illinois State Fire Marshall continue the investigation.
Officials are still looking for the cause. The victim was found in a bathroom in the two-story structure that had been divided into multiple residences for veterans.
Danville’s Public Safety Office reported five veterans lived at the residence. One other occupant was rescued from the front porch.

Another Vermilion County fire damaged a house in Alvin.
73-year-old Louis Dickison, his wife and son escaped without injury when the fire broke out Thursday afternoon.
Some 50 firemen from several departments answered the call. Damage was heavy in an upper floor. Un-official reports declared the house a total loss.
Bismarck Firefighter Protection District received mutual aid from the Blue Grass, Lynch and Rossville Fire Departments. The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
