Twenty-three year-old Brock Allen Prince of Manteno was pulled from the Iroquois River Sunday after he went missing late Saturday night. There were reports he had attended a party in the village of Iroquois and may have gone swimming.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources and several area fire and rescue teams spent the early-morning hours Sunday and then again during the day Sunday searching for Prince.
Sonar equipment was used to locate the victim. The man's body was retrieved from the river and pronounced dead just before 4 pm.
Rescue teams had searched for the missing man at the Iroquois river bridge on U.S. Route 52.
Iroquois County Sheriff's Police are investigating. County Coroner Bill Cheatum said it's not known why Prince entered the river. An autopsy was scheduled.
