The Newton County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of those involved in a fatal pedestrian crash over the weekend.

Michael Halami, 49, of Roselawn was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by Janice Miller of Roselawn on State Road 10 between DeMotte and Roselawn late Saturday evening.

Halami was reportedly walking in the westbound lane when Miller hit him from behind. Miller told police she did not see him in the roadway. Halami was pronounced dead at the scene. The case remains under investigation.
