The Iroquois County community and then-some are invited to an open house in Watseka Thursday.

UR Teen Center ... in the former Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department, at 114 N Third Street...will offer area teenagers a safe place to hang out.

UR Teen Center plans to offer open hours 3-8 pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The open house Thursday (1/10) is from 6-8 pm.

Danielle and Jason Tomes of Sheldon welcome visitors and suggestions for helping the center grow. Danielle says there’s a need .........

The Tomes and Michael & Shari Johnson of Sheldon are behind the effort in organizing the 501(c)3 youth center... an extension of the UR (Yer) Foods business the Tomes’ operate in rural Sheldon.

UR Teen Center is drug-free, alcohol-free and smoke-free. It’s intent is to help engage teens in an open, safe environment.

Jason says any ideas/recommendations for additional program opportunities are welcome.........

Business people, individuals, and church groups are invited to get involved. Donations arte welcome to support the center.
