The Lake Iroquois Association, a homeowners group at the rural lake northeast of Loda in Iroquois County, has been approved for a $425,000 loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The homeowners group, on a lake in southern Iroquois County, will use the loan to replace the community's wastewater treatment system.
The current system will be replaced with a new treatment facility and sludge digestion tank.
The loan was among $16.8 million in USDA funding for water and wastewater projects in Illinois, annuounced by U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin. The bulk of the funding was nearly $14.23 million to Monticello for replacing its wastewater treatment plant.
