Vermilion County Board members unanimously elected Mike Marron to another two-year term as chairman Monday night.

Marron is from Fithian. He’s served as chairman the last two years, after succeeding Gary Weinard of Hoopeston.

Todd Johnson, a Rossville-area Republican, was chosen as vice chairman.

Marron said he believes the board have a great opportunity the next few years to accomplish things.

Republicans retained the majority on the 27-member board in the November election.
