The 13-year-old boy struck and killed by a train in Danville last week is now identified as Deon Jackson of Danville. Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden said the boy was pronounced dead at Presence United Samaritan Medical Center.

The bike-train collision happened last Friday (6/30). The boy was struck while riding his bicycle along Griffin Street about 4 pm. The site of the accident has two sets of tracks, protected only by crossing arms and lights. There are no gates.
