A two-vehicle accident early Tuesday afternoon took the life of a 19-year-old woman. The victim is not identified as Illinois State Police investigate. It happened just before 12:30 pm east of Danville along the Indiana border.
The woman, according to police reports, failed to yield at the rural intersection with Stateline Road. The woman turned north onto Stateline Road and was struck on the driver’s side by a vehicle operated by a 20-year-old man from Covington, Ind. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver and passenger in the second car were treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The Vermilion County Coroner is investigating.
